Limited liability and indemnity

What this page cannot do
Start here, because it is the part that matters most. Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. If any part of it purported to, that part would simply be void, and the guarantee would still apply.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. They must be of acceptable quality, fit for their purpose and match their description. Where they are not, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund, the choice being yours where the failure is major, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss.
What we limit, to the extent the law allows
Subject to the paragraphs above, and only so far as Australian law permits, our liability for goods bought from this site is limited to one of the following, at our election: replacing the goods, supplying equivalent goods, repairing the goods, paying the cost of replacing them, or paying the cost of having them repaired.
Again subject to the paragraphs above, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or loss of opportunity, arising from the use of goods bought here or from any delay in delivering them.
What these products are
Everything sold here is a textile good: pillowcases, a flat sheet, a sleep mask, a bonnet and newborn mittens. None of it is safety equipment, protective equipment or a medical device, and we make no medical, dermatological or anti-ageing claim for any of it anywhere on this site. Silk reduces friction against hair and skin and moves moisture rather than trapping it. Those are properties of the fibre and they are the whole of what we assert.
The silk baby mittens are the one item worth naming separately. They are mittens whose purpose is to stop a newborn scratching their own face. They are not a treatment for any skin condition, and questions about a baby's skin belong with a maternal health nurse or a GP rather than with us.
Care and use
Each product page states how to look after that item. Silk wants cold water, a detergent with no enzymes, no bleach, no dryer and shade drying. Damage caused by hot washing, bleaching or tumble drying a silk item is not a fault in the goods, and it is the one kind of damage we cannot help with. The satin range is far less demanding and each page says so.
Third parties
Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal and delivery is carried out by third-party couriers. Where one of those services fails, we remain responsible to you for the order under the Australian Consumer Law, and we deal with the provider rather than sending you to them.
Website content
We keep the information on this site accurate and current, and where a figure is not published we say so rather than estimating it. Even so, the site is provided as it stands: articles and buying guides are general information rather than advice for your particular situation.
